Benjamin
Franklin Charter School has an academically
focused educational program that includes a phonics-based
Language Arts program. Our program stresses excellence
in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar,
Literature, History, and Science, with enhancements
in Art, General Music, Band, Orchestra, Physical
Education and Sports.
By design, the Benjamin Franklin Charter School
program provides a safe, structured, and friendly
atmosphere where students can grow and excel academically.
Our faculty and staff provide a professional,
caring, and motivational environment for our students
ensuring their success.
The faculty at Benjamin Franklin
Charter Schools is our greatest asset. We undergo
a lengthy and deliberative hiring and screening
process to select the best-qualified and most
talented teachers we can find. Regardless of experience,
all of our teachers and academic aides are required
to participate in extensive training before they
are assigned to a classroom. Additional services
and training take place throughout the school
year and continue from year to year as needed.
Benjamin Franklin Charter School uses a buddy-teacher/mentor-teacher
approach to support our faculty and maintain the
consistent results that we are noted for.
The Benjamin Franklin Charter
School program has been in continuous operation
since 1995. It is currently serving the communities
of Mesa, Queen Creek, and Gilbert Arizona, in
the Phoenix east-valley area. The Mesa and Gilbert
campuses are kindergarten through 6th grade programs
and the Queen Creek campus is a kindergarten through
8th grade program.
Enrollment at Benjamin Franklin
Charter School is determined on a first-come,
first-served, space available basis. Because we
are a charter school and therefore a public school,
enrollment is tuition free. Pre-enrollment links
are available online and campus phone numbers,
addresses, and map locations are available by
clicking on the campus of interest on the main
menu.
Benjamin Franklin Charter
Schools consistently scores in the top 10 percent
of all Arizona schools on state-mandated tests
(Stanford 9, AIMS, AIMS-DPA, and the TerraNova).
This is a result of the consistent delivery of
a structured, well-rounded academic program, taught
by excellent teachers, and supported by our parents.
Benjamin Franklin Charter Schools do not “teach
to the test”, as many schools do. We have
demonstrated with our program that you can teach
skills and knowledge to children without limiting
the scope of the program to the low expectations
of a state mandated test.
